About this role
The Advanced Materials Engineering (AME) group is responsible for developing, designing, and implementing new materials technology and applications. The AME Group is currently seeking a full-time intern to assist in process development, validation, and documentation. The intern will work with global, cross-disciplinary teams to baseline our process and identify streamlined opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
• Work with Carrier teams and suppliers to identify opportunities to streamline processes
• Document and validate procedures and materials qualifications
• Primary focus: metallurgical evaluations, chromatography, corrosion testing and analysis, and process improvement
• Calculate estimated cost savings associated with process improvements
Required Qualifications
• Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field
• 3.0 or higher GPA
• Applicant must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of metallurgy, chemistry, or related field
• Knowledge of refrigeration products
• Ability to solve challenging and complex engineering problems
• Statistical knowledge
• Process improvement experience
