Job Description
TheMaineWire.com, New England's fastest growing digital news and investigative reporting platform, is looking for a talented Digital Media Editor to assist with video editing, content creation, social media management, and website curation. Candidates must be proficient with the Adobe suite of multimedia editing products, including Premiere, After Effects, and Illustrator. The Digital Media Editor will work directly for the Director of Digital Media and be responsible for editing short- and long-form video, creating animations and graphic art, and ensuring efficient distribution of news content across social media platforms.
The ideal candidate will have an advanced understanding of American history and American politics, as well as new and emerging digital media platforms. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, decentralized (aka remote) work space. If you're looking for a role where you can dip out in the middle of the day for a dentist appointment with no fuss, but might occasionally have to post a video of Joe Biden falling down a flight of stairs on a Saturday night, this is the role for you.
