Description

Dispatcher Basic Function - The Dispatcher is responsible for providing 24/7/365 support for gate systems, the Generator Control Unit (GCU), the EGSE Charging Stations, baggage systems, and facility maintenance. Dispatchers will take calls and dispatch maintenance services as needed, coordinate corrective work actions at the request of the Manager on duty.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the first contact to customers and vendors.
  • Answer phones and enter work orders into CMMS and input required response and WO information into the CMMS (IBM Maximo)
  • Coordinate the scheduling of technicians when appropriate, and customer service requirements with onsite maintenance personnel.
  • Implement work order schedules maximizing usage of technicians and other resources.
  • Create parts notifications as necessary.
  • Respond to operational inquiries, complaints and issues within (1) minute of being notified.
  • Data entry for all preventative and corrective maintenance activity into the CMMS system.
  • Generate new work orders and log into CMMS system to track completion time along with materials used.
  • Create purchase orders and track spare parts inventory.
  • Monitor baggage system and dispatch mechanic to address issues.
  • Dispatch maintenance and custodial services as needed.
  • Answer all phone calls and maintain contact logs for each specific request i.e. operational request, maintenance malfunction and personnel issues.

  • Assist in the training of others.
  • Implement work order schedules maximizing usage of technicians and other resources.
  • Run operation reports and provide recommendations to improve efficiency/productivity
  • Report any issues found that could potentially lead to additional system failures.
  • Assist with operational issues during outages or failures.
  • Comply with company safety program and trainings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

Qualifications

Needed Skills:
  1. 24/7 operations; night and weekend shift work required.
  2. Familiarity with a variety of airport operational concepts, practices, and procedures.
  3. Ability to handle sensitive documents and proprietary information in a confidential manner.
  4. Ability to operate and functionally use a computer.
  5. Ability to read and comprehend complicated materials and instructions (English) and be able to communicate both verbally and in writing (English).
  6. Ability to work accurately despite multiple interruptions and frequent activity and/or workload changes during a typical working day.
  7. Ability to work on a flexible schedule.
  8. Ability to take direction.
  9. Ability to multi-task.
  10. Ability to prioritize tasks.
  11. Detail and safety-oriented.
  12. Ability to create and maintain productive relationships with employees, clients, and vendors.
  13. Ability to drive and maintain a safe driving record.
  14. Valid state driver's license (any in US).
  15. In possession of appropriate paperwork to gain and maintain employment in the US.
  16. Ability to meet worksite security requirements.
Education/Experience Minimum:
    1. High School diploma or GED equivalent
  1. Certifications or associate degree is a plus but not required.
  2. Valid Driver License
  3. 2+ year of related experience in customer service or dispatching and working with airport equipment.
  4. 2+ year of related experience with data entry, scheduling workloads, and/or processing work orders
  5. Ability to write effectively in the preparation of reports and forms (Email)
  6. Knowledge of Airport equipment is a plus.
