What you’ll be doing: Design, develop, test, debug, and optimize GPU firmware throughout the entire GPU lifecycle Implement industry standard display technologies, including HDMI, DP, eDP, and the UEFI Graphics Output Protocol Work closely with hardware, software, infrastructure, and business teams to transform new display features from idea to reality Work with leading OS and PC vendors to improve and innovate on the startup experience Create, document, and automate workflows, processes, and tooling for internal-facing and external-facing team projects What we need to see: BS or MS degree in EE/CS/CE (or equivalent experience) Display technology experience such as HDMI, DP, and eDP Sturdy technical background in UEFI firmware development In depth understanding of PC notebook and desktop architecture Strong grasp of software development lifecycle and coding practices Strong Python, C, and scripting skills Even stronger interpersonal skills with a sense of humor highly encouraged, but not required Easy to work with, as you’ll constantly be engaged with both hardware designers and other software engineers to design, develop, and debug functional (and non-functional!) aspects of GPU subsystems and display functionality Ways to stand out from the crowd: Background with display protocol analyzers Experience in developing device BIOS, firmware, or other low-level software Familiarity with x86 and VGA assembly programming Experience with OS user and kernel mode drivers Passion for optimizing and unlocking the potential of yourself and others through your work NVIDIA is widely considered to be one of the technology world’s most desirable employers.
