Job Description

Summary Per Se Group has a great contract opportunity for a Project Manager with expertise in capital construction in the oil and gas refinery setting. In this position you will lead the project team to ensure project performance, consistency, and compliance to the charter and execution plan by providing technical expertise toward development, design, and execution of capital projects. The project portfolio mainly consists of projects from $1MM-$20MM in size, from early-phase project development through project closeout. You will utilize your exceptional communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders of the project and exercise the necessary leadership to help ensure the project is completed on schedule and within budget, while maintaining the safety and operational integrity of personnel and facilities. Responsibilities

• Identify risks within the project area and in implementing corresponding mitigation plans.
• Lead interface with EPC contractors on all technical aspects of project
• Coordinate with internal technical experts to address questions and issues during project design
• Ensure that EPC contractor design and specifications comply with internal requirements
• Develop project authorization packages to be presented to internal management
• Review project cost estimates and schedules
• Provide technical expediting support to procurement personnel to ensure that equipment is meeting schedule requirements
• Coordinate shop inspection requirements for engineered equipment and field technical questions from inspection team
• Manage bid package development for engineering services, engineered equipment, and construction services
• Interface with construction teams to answer RFIs or coordinate EPC involvement in construction phase
• Review construction plans and assist construction team with progress tracking system setup

Preferred Skills and Expertise

• Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in refinery project management.
• Strong understanding of project management deliverables and activities as well as project planning and controlling, including experience working in detailed engineering, construction, and various project phases.
• Knowledge of project management principles, up-to-date business processes, and best practices for major projects.
• Experience working on projects within owner’s organization.
• Previous project experience in oil & gas refining, petrochemical or upgrading, and brownfield projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is a plus.
• Ability and willingness to work in extreme winter weather conditions.
