JOB TITLE: Social Media Manager LOCATION: Remote DEPARTMENT: Marketing & Development REPORTS TO: Associate, Director of Marketing POSITION STATUS: Full-time CLASSIFICATION: Exempt SALARY: $60,000 annually COMPANY SUMMARY: Eden Reforestation Projects (Eden) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization facilitating landscape restoration and community development through nature-based solutions. Compassionate Carbon (CC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Eden which facilitates carbon-financed conservation and restoration initiatives. Eden/CC work in developing regions of the world to protect and restore forests and ecosystems by working with local communities to address and mitigate the drivers of landscape degradation. Eden has active programming in Africa, Latin America, and Asia. POSITION SUMMARY: The Social Media Manager will be responsible for developing, executing, and implementing marketing & social media strategies, creative content, and innovative social media strategies by building communities through follower and donor engagement on all social media platforms, creating long-standing relationships with donors and ultimately, supporting donations, partnerships, and brand awareness for the organization. As a Social Media Manager, you will develop original content and suggest creative ways to attract more engagement, followers, donors, partners, and promote the brand. Ultimately, you will need to be able to track performance, increase web traffic, and increase customer engagement in alignment with the organization’s overall marketing strategies. If you are successful in this role, you will become a point person for the organization's social media efforts, and raise awareness for the organization's vision, mission, and drive growth.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Creative Content Strategy support and implementation Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy for all platforms, aligned with our organization's goals and messaging.Develop, create, or oversee the creation, execute and publish compelling, engaging, informative, and timely content, of organic and paid content for all social media platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, YouTube, and other emerging and relevant platforms. Collaborate with various departments to translate team ideas and objectives into creative and engaging content. Version out, review, and publish creative content to ensure all information is accurate and in alignment with the brand standards, voice, and tone. Version out content according to target audience segments and social media platforms. Provide ongoing channel maintenance and creative refreshes representing the mission, vision, and increasing the organization’s presence across social media. Monitor and report on social media analytics as necessary for monthly reporting and quarterly reporting. Utilize social media analytics to recommend optimization based on performance. Create and coordinate paid social media assets under the supervision of the Associate Director of Marketing. Proactively stay current on the social media landscape, including platform updates, relevant trends, and the real-time category news cycle. Increase, measure and monitor web traffic and monitor SEO as driven by social media. Community & Audience Engagement Engage & monitor social media channels for mentions, comments, and messages, and respond promptly and appropriately. Review and respond to donors, followers, and prospective partners every day by providing answers to their questions and related topics, maintaining a response time of less than one business day across all social media accounts and communications touchpoints (e.g., DMs, public comments on Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and Facebook) Find and propose opportunities to proactively engage with new audiences and social content to further promote two-way conversations. Escalate monthly insights on most common outreach and report on online reviews and feedback from donors and supporters. Be a primary source of communication to all external audiences during crisis communication Develop an optimal posting schedule and calendar, considering web traffic and customer engagement metrics. Oversee social media accounts' layout.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Must be detail-oriented to ensure communication pieces are going out accurately Time management and organization are key, as there are many competing priorities Willingness to roll up your sleeves and create order out of ambiguity Ability to keep a finger on the pulse and voice of company-related communication and messaging Proven work experience as a Social Media Coordinator Expertise in multiple social media platforms In-depth knowledge of SEO, keyword research, and Google Analytics Ability to deliver dynamic creative content (text, image, video, and reels) Familiarity with online marketing strategies and marketing channels Ability to understand future trends in digital technologies and act proactively Excellent communication skillsMultitasking and analytical skills Bachelor's degree in marketing, new media, or a relevant field

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
