Job Description

Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Software Tester to join our Agile team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the functionality, reliability, and performance of our applications by executing creating and executing tests, reporting on findings, and collaborating with developers. Your expertise will help us maintain high standards of quality and enhanced user experiences. This is a hybrid position located in Fredericksburg, VA, allowing for 2 days of telework per week. Applicants must live within commutable distance and be willing to work on-site at our Fredericksburg office. Clearance:

An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.

Requirements:
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • 3+ years experience in software testing or quality assurance, with a strong understanding of testing methodologies
  • Experience with test case management and defect tracking tools (Azure DevOps)
  • Familiarity with manual testing and automated testing frameworks
Responsibilities:
  • Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive manual and automated test cases.
  • Collaborate with developers and Product Owners to understand application requirements and translate them into effective test strategies.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects using Azure DevOps tools.
  • Perform various testing types: functional, regression, integration, usability, and performance testing.
  • Participate in design discussions to provide input on quality and testing approaches.
  • Maintain testing documentation and provide reports on testing progress and software quality.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and participation in Agile development teams
  • Basic programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript for test automation
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and ability to perform API testing
  • Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools 
  • Familiarity with web application testing, including UI/UX best practices

 

Education: A Bachelor's Degree is required for this position. Compensation:

Compensation at SimVentions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements.

 

The projected annual compensation range for this position is $84,961.00 - $119,460.00(USD). This estimate reflects the standard salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package that SimVentions offers.
