Problem- Waste Management

Our world is facing a growing waste management crisis, as land fills are shutting down one by one and we are moving towards incineration. It is becoming increasingly important to divert organic matter and recyclable materials into separate waste streams to minimize the load on our waste management systems.

Problem- Soil Fertility

Within the agricultural world there has been a growing problem with maintaining fertile soil. Many farms have resorted to excessive use of fossil-fuel derived fertilizers which deplete the soils fertility over time and leaves agro-business dependent on expensive chemicals. Even small organic farms can struggle to find enough inputs for creating natural fertilizers from composted farm waste.

Vision: Turn Waste into Food

Why not take the organic material from local grocery stores and cafeterias and transport it to local farms, where it can be turned into nutrient rich compost? And why not use leg-powered transportation to do it?

It makes perfect sense to cancel out two costly problems with one good solution
